Brotherly Love

This makes it all worth it!

While I was putting the sheets on Tanner's bed tonight I was praying for God to make my children obedient. I feel like I have yelled at them all afternoon for not listening, for fighting, for talking back, for... But after Tanner read the devotional to Conner he leaned over and hugged him and said "I love you" Thank you Lord for reminding me that it is worth it at the end of the day! These boys make my heart smile!

Happy Birthday

PawPaw turned 81! The boys and Caitlyn played golf and then we partied with cake. He says in 3 months he is going to retire from driving the school bus. Doing awesome for 81, I'd say!

Yummy!

A candy necklace is the best!

Especially when it's for breakfast!

Mid week and we've had all green so far...

Tanner says he like class and his teacher. We are doing pretty good on our routine, but there hasn't been any homework yet. We will see how that goes next week.

First Day of First Grade

It was awful and great all at the same time.
I really hate it that Tanner is in "grade" school now. It's REAL school now. Real grades, reading AR books, spelling tests... But Tanner was fine. He didn't even seem nervous. He said that they didn't do too much today. No homework yet. I'm sure he will be fine this year but this is it. No more little boy. :(

Conner and I got so much done today while Tanner was at school. I love summer, but we have no routine in the summer and today we got back on schedule!!!! We got the house cleaned, went to lunch, and folded all the clothes all before we went to get Tanner. Then I cooked and we ate together at the table and everyone was in bed by 9:30. This is the part I love!
Well, 179 days left!

Last Day of Summer

Phineas and Ferb lied!! There are not 104 days of summer vacation! There are only 75 days. :(

But we had a great summer. We did lots of new things and lots of fun old things. I feel like the boys became friends this summer too. We had a few bad days but its great to know that our God is bigger than our problems!!!

I'm so excited for Tanner's first grade year. I feel like this is his first year of real school. He has tests and real grades. I know he will do great!

What are me and this crazy kids going to do without Tanner here? I'm sure we will be bored and just mope around. At least that's what we will tell tanner we are doing!

I already can't wait til next summer!

Open House

Why is it that time goes by so fast? Not just this summer but the past 6 almost 7 years. Tanner will be in first grade this year...OM MY GOODNESS!!!!

Last night we went to find his classroom and meet his teacher Ms. Desirae. He's got most of his friends in his class this year too. I think it's going to be a great year, I just hope it goes by S...L....O...W!

Day 63

Nothing for today...ugh. I can't believe it, I didn't take a picture.

So I will share something that Ms. Cindy said tonight at women's prayer..."pray with your God given authority"
I think we often forget this and seem to beg God for the things we desire. Or maybe not beg but ask. We, or atleast I, find myself saying please give me this or change that.
I was reminded by Conner on Sunday of just how we should pray. While we were on the way to a baptism service at the lake it was cloudy and thundering. I told the kids to pray that it wouldn't rain. So Conner turns his seat into an altar and says "thank you God for not letting it rain on us tonight". I said that's right buddy, it's not going to rain because God is in control and we just need to go ahead and thank Him for it.
So this week pray with the authority and thank God for the goodness that He already has planned for you!

Random Act of Kindness

Today we left a quarter in the treat machine at lunch...

And we got to see the boy who found it.

He was excited. He went back to his table telling them there was a quarter already in the machine. But the best part was that Tanner wanted to do it again. He said "now that was awesome!"
